Parish Fundraising

There is a strong history of fundraising in our Parish and over the years we have contributed to many external, internal, repair and upgrade projects the PCC have approved for our churches. Most recently, we raised nearly £30,000 for the stained-glass window repair fund at St Thomas'. Phase 1 has been completed and phase 2 is due to begin May 2026. Whereas there is allocation in the Parish’s annual finance budget for routine maintenance of our churches, unplanned repairs too often present themselves, imposing impossible demands on the  church finances. When this happens, we raise our game and set fundraising objectives for unexpected expenditure.

Go Gutter Project

This year, in 2026, this unplanned work is comprehensive gutter repair at St Thomas' and the Buildings & Grounds group is currently scoping and costing this work. Watch this space for the launch of the Go Gutter project. Fundraising initiatives are needed so if you think you can help in any way, please get in touch with Sandy  vicar@thebourne.org.uk or Mo.  mo@thebourne.org.uk

Here are the other active fundraising intitiatives.

Supporting Christian Aid will help those people pushed to the brink of poverty to find the strength to see opportunities to recover and meet their ambitions to build fulfilling lives, especially in Burundi.  Fundraising is led by Sari Smith and a very successful programme of Lunchtime concerts during Lent this year , raised over  £2600, a magnificent sum.

Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice

Planning is underway for the annual 2026 Christmas Market on 28th November. This year again the Hospice is the primary beneficiary with some proceeds also going into St Thomas' building maintenance fund for special repair projects. More volunteers are needed, please contact mo@thebourne.org.uk  or janet_windeatt@thebourne.org.uk if you can help in the smallest or largest way.
