A warm welcome to the Bourne Parish

As the new Vicar of the United Benefice of The Bourne and Tilford, I welcome you to our parish and hope that you will find this website helpful. Please do let us have your comments and suggestions as it is very much a work in progress.

I hope you all had a very Happy Easter, as I did. Highlights for me were the wonderful music in Holy Week, and the tasteful decoration of the churches. I have never before seen an Easter garden with so much detail - it appeared to fascinate young and old alike.

We continue to celebrate Easter for six weeks, until the great celebration of Pentecost in June. During this time, in our Eucharistic services we will be using seasonal service booklets, which I hope you find helpful.

A new initiative for this term is a group for 11-15 year olds, which will follow on from the confirmation classes for our newly confirmed, and is also open to any others in this age range who would like to explore issues of faith and life as well as play games and have fun together. Our first meeting is on 29th April, from 4.30 to 6 pm, in the Upper Room (entrance at the Swingate Road end of St. Thomas-on-The Bourne). Please do come along if you are in that age bracket. If you are an adult who would be interested in helping, or who could donate to us some beanbags, cushions, or a DVD player, please do contact me; I'd love to hear from you!
