A warm welcome to the Bourne Parish

We are preparing for the induction of our New Vicar

Dear All,

A Happy New Year to everyone.

Excitement is growing as we near the end of the interregnum or “vacancy” as it is now known.  We hope that you have set aside Thursday 2nd February 2012 to come to St Thomas’s at 7.30pm for the Service of Institution, Induction and Installation of the Reverend Karen Hutchinson as our new vicar of the United Benefice of the Bourne and Tilford.

 This very special service which will be conducted by The Right Reverend Christopher Hill, Bishop of Guildford, the Venerable Stuart Beake, Archdeacon of Surrey and the Reverend Anne Gell, Rural Dean in the presence of parishioners of The Bourne and Tilford and supported by our own ministry team, local deanery clergy and representatives of other denominations and faiths in the community. Members of the congregations of Crondall and Ewshott as well as Karen’s friends and family will all be invited to join us at St Thomas’s Church for the occasion. There will also be local representation from those holding civic office, schools and the community.

We anticipate a packed church for the service, which will be followed by a reception in the new centenary rooms when we will welcome Karen and her family to the United Benefice.

 We look forward to seeing you on 2nd February at 7.30pm for what promises to be a beautiful and joyful service on the Feast of Candlemas and the start of a new and exciting chapter for the Benefice and its people.
