Latest News Schedule Revision due to Snow Due to the due to the snow and treacherous road conditions, I am making the following revisions to the choir rehearsal and services over the coming weekend: Friday 8th January: Choir practice cancelled Sunday 10th January: 9am Rehearsal for 10am Sung Eucharist: Everyone who can make it: Boys, Girls and Men with no chorister training after the service Evensong Cancelled. PV 7.1.10 BBC Radio Surrey: Live Carols Broadcast The Choir of St. Thomas-on-The Bourne was recently delighted to be invited to sing two carols live on BBC Radio Surrey on the morning of Saturday 12th December. Carols at Farnham Christmas Lights Switch-On The Choir of St. Thomas-on-The Bourne really enjoyed the chance to sing carols at the switch on of the Farnham Christmas Lights on Saturday 28th November 2009 in Gostrey Meadow. We sang for half an hour and were delighted with the very positive reception. Concert: “Christmas with the Choristers of St. Thomas-on-The Bourne” 7.30pm on Saturday, December 12th, 2009 at St. Thomas-on-The Bourne. The concert performed the Boy Choristers, Girl Choristers and Choir Gentlemen along with soloists and readers, preesenting music and readings for Christmas was a great success. We sold all of the tickets and have made £1400 for choir funds. Head Choristers Mark North has been appointed head chorister of the boys with Michael Cullum and Cameron Barnett as deputy head choristers. Anglea Cowdry has been appointed head chorister of the girls with Anna Harrison as deputy head chorister. Well Done! Chorister Awards Congratulations to Angela Cowdry, Anna Harrison, Mark North, Jacob Morris and Luke Sprague who have all gained their RSCM Dean's Chorister Award. All five passed the examination in July, achieving distinctions, merits and a pass and will be receiving their Certificates at the RSCM Guildford Diocesan Choirs Festival Cathedral on Saturday 17th October 2009 at Guildford Cathedral. |
